Team DC arrived in Puerto Sherry after a rough crossing of the Bay of Biscay off the coast of Spain. You can see a mini movie of Team DC’s Race 1 in a previous post. Here is a video taken by a crew mate’s wife of Team DC’s arrival in Puerto Sherry.
Bill has a new look!
Below are some pictures of the award ceremony and welcome party for all the Teams. Team Perseverance took first place, by a lot. Bill says the welcome was a big deal and the party was really fun.
While in port, the team was allowed to send one member on a local sites tour (there were other activities the team participated in such as a beach clean up, etc.) and they voted to send Bill. He visited an archaeological site: Castillo de Dona Blanca, a wine tasting at Casa Vina “La Bendita Locus,” Aranibar Palace, and San Marcos Castle. Bill really enjoyed it. Some of his pictures are below. Race 2 starts on Friday, September 15th at 9:00 AM, Central Time. Race 2 ends in Puente del Estes, Uruguay sometime between October 12th and 16th.
